At the very least they should have given me an option to repack for a fee, but I think they make more profit first flight tracking on inflating the shipping charges than they do on repacking fees and actually being good to their customers.
used these guys 5-6 times.repack option has saved me $$S.They have always repacked(where possible) stuff into smaller boxes and they also tell you the difference before/after repack.Maybe you are referring to the "volumetric weight" they consider when handling large(and light) items. first flight tracking
here's what they charged me for a tshirt (weight was less than 200g including the 3 layers of packaging it was already in). they could have easily put this in an envelope, but instead first flight tracking packed first flight tracking it into a much larger box than was necessary (and charged me $5 for it)
So you ignore the fact that they charge a minimum weight first flight tracking right? " As per industry practice, shipping charges are made up to the first half kilogram, which is a flat fee. A charge applies for every additional half kilogram thereafter. " Also, even in Australia whenever i buy T-shirts the declared weight on the pack has never been under 500 gr. Check it out next time ;) P.s just checked rates at Priceusa: for a 200gr pack/ envelope(i highly doubt they will charge you only 200 gr for the t-shirt) they charge 14.7 USD via first class mail (16-21 days) and 34.48 USD via ups
instead, they put it in a box that was larger than necessary. this has happened to me twice. i can only assume they do this because this is how they increase their profits. there is an incentive for them to pack inefficiently, and little incentive for them to save their customers money.
USPS will charge based on weight down to the nearest 1 or 2 ounces. ie. a 85 gram international parcel will be slightly more expensive then a 56 gram international parcel, etc. USPS first class internation is great, especially considering how cheap it is. always gets to me in 2 weeks and comes with a basic tracking number.
I disagree! I have always had good outcome with UPS and Fedex. Last parcel sent on a Monday evening(AU time) and arrived Thursday morning. i always use them for "big" or multiple purchases and I'm happy with them. Even on my last DSE eneloop purchase the declared weight was 1kg so i repeat i higly doubt they would declare first flight tracking 200gr for a t shirt. first flight tracking Also keep in mind that every additional 1/2 kg is 4.80 USD express or 4 USD for standard delivery, so I wouldn't complain if for a $400 order(more than 30 items, baby clothing that would cost me $$$ here) i pay an extra $5 to HSG.
charging me $5 to repackage a 200g tshirt into a box with a 1kg volume is ripping me off. it came in an envelope from the retailer. the only reason for them to repackage it into a big box is to increase their profit.
here is where you are wrong! A 2 minute google search shows that priceusa has been giving wrong shipping cost estimates and then asking for more money due to the volumetric weight. Just look it up on Whirlpool. I personally haven't used priceusa yet and I have nothing against the company. I'm sure that every company has happy and sad customers but you can not generalise by saying HSG rips people off and priceUsa not !
